• Bill made his National Hockey League debut on March 29, 1986, as the Boston Bruins squared off against Buffalo. The nineteen-year-old was called up from his junior club, and stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 2-1 Boston victory. Ranford would win his first three NHL decisions, before dropping the next five (including two playoff contests).
