WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:

"The Kings are so certain Storr will devleop into a franchise goalie that they signed him to a three-year, $2.6 million contract Sept. 30. When the lockout began, Storr's status was uncertain. He had signed, but the Kings already had Kelly Hrudey and Robb Stauber in the fold. Storr was returned to the Owen Sound Platers of the Ontario League and has struggled on a terrible team. Storr was named the OHL goalie of the year last season, the top goalie at the World Junior Championship and was Canada's third goalie at the World Championships." (Rick Sadowski, The Hockey News Future Watch 1995)

"Former first-rounder. Finally appears ready. Some observers wrote him off as a potential bust and Storr responded with a great minor-league year despite the fact that his club wasn't the hottest. L.A. would like Storr to split the schedule with Fiset. With the defensive line steadier, the time is right for him." (The Sports Forecaster Hockey '97-'98, p. 218)

"The Kings' seventh-overall selection in 1994 has taken longer than expected to deliver. Though he has played parts of five seasons now, Storr is just scratching the surface of his career. He doesn't lack confidence in his ability, nor does he lack any physical tool. Perhaps games and shots are all that are missing from him becoming one of the best in the business. Storr is slowly making the climb to No. 1 goaltender status. He's no worse than a superior backup at this stage of his career. The potential for greatness remains." (The Sports Forecaster 1999-2000, p. 206)

"Although Stephane Fiset is still the No. 1 goaltender in Los Angeles, Storr, who was billed a franchise goaltender during his draft year, maintained a better save percentage than Fiset last season. Moreover, he's finally showing signs of being able to manage a heavier workload. A head-to-head battle between Storr and Fiset is expected this season. If Storr is up to the challenge, chances are the Kings could be active in trade talks at some point." (The Sports Forecaster 2000-01, p. 203)

"The Kings' first-round pick in 1994 (seventh overall) has a golden opportunity to establish himself as the organization's undisputed No. 1 goaltender last season. But he failed the task miserably. Storr has had a propensity for inconsistent play over his seven years with the Kings. While no one doubts his physical ability, the 6-2 netminder needs more work in the mental aspects of goaltending. He still tends to get rattled after surrendering a bad goal - not a good sign for a goalkeeper with close to 150 NHL appearances. Storr heads to the Kings' training camp on the outside looking in. He must show his true worth during preseason play in order to attract the attention of other NHL teams." (The Sports Forecaster 2001-02, p. 209)

"Storr didn't get much of an opportunity to finally meet expectations last season but posted excellent backup numbers. The No. 7 overall selection in 1994 is a sound positional goaltender, using his 6-2 frame to block most of the net. He has battled inconsistency throughout his pro career and tends to get down on himself after giving up soft goals. The Kings need to make a decision on Storr in the near future. While he likely won't challenge Felix Potvin for the starting gig this season, he may finally find a new home with someone who's willing to give him a shot at the No. 1 job." (The Sports Forecaster 2002-03, p. 203)
