• The highly-touted Price made his National Hockey League debut at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh on October 10, 2007, and stopped twenty-six Penguin shots in a 3-2 victory. "It hasn't really hit me yet," said Price. "It's pretty exciting." Price said that he was more relaxed for the start than he had been at the World Junior tournament or in the AHL Calder Cup finals.

  Price made several key saves, including two saves on Sidney Crosby in a flurry in front of his net, and a big close save on Erik Christensen early in the second. Said captain Saku Koivu: "I thought he really looked confident. And if he was nervous, he didn't show it at all. We took some penalties in the first period so he had to get into the game right away, and he made some key saves, kept us in the game."

• Came down with stomach flu, February 15, 2013. Price missed Montreal's game the following night.
• Left game with lower body injury, May 7, 2013. With twenty-three seconds left in regulation and the Canadiens nursing a one-goal lead over Ottawa, the Senators' Kyle Turris crashed the crease while teammate Cory Conacher tallied the game-tying goal. Price did not play in the overtime, replaced by Peter Budaj.
• Suffered lower-body injury; missed eight games, February 2014. Price played in Canada's gold-medal victory over Sweden on February 23, but did return to National Hockey League action until March 15.
• Left game with lower-body injury, May 17, 2014. Early in the second period, Rangers forward Chris Kreider lost his balance and went barreling into Price's right knee with his skates in front of him. Montreal coach Michel Therrien said he thought the play was "accidental, honestly," and Kreider said he "just had too much momentum and couldn't really avoid him. It didn't feel too good for me either." Price stayed in the game, allowing four goals on 20 shots before giving way to Peter Budaj for the final period of Montreal's 7-2 loss to the Rangers.
• Suffered upper-body injury, January 14, 2015. Price was hurt in a collision with Columbus' Matt Calvert. He finished the game, but did not dress for the Canadiens' next game on January 17.
• Suffered lower body injury, October 2015. The injury was announced on November 1.
• Left game with lower-body injury, November 25, 2015. Mike Condon played the third period of the Canadiens' win over the Rangers for Price, whom Montreal coach Michel Therrien confirmed suffered a relapse of his injury suffered earlier in the season.
• Suffered from flu, October 12, 2016. Price did not travel with the Canadiens to Buffalo for their 2016-2017 season opener against the Sabres.
• Suffered upper body injury, April 19, 2021. Canadiens coach Dominique Ducharme said that the injury occurred when Price was bumped by Edmonton forward Alex Chiasson at 12:01 of the first period, on a goal by Connor McDavid that was ultimately waved off after a successful goaltender interference challenge. Price finished the period, but was replaced by Jake Allen at the first intermission.

• Carey's father, Jerry Price, was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1978 National Hockey League amateur draft. The elder Price played professionally until 1982-83.
• Price started his first National Hockey League game twenty-two years to the day after Hall of Famer Patrick Roy, also against the Penguins. (Note that, contrary to published accounts, Roy's first game and first win were not against Pittsburgh.)
• On November 24, 2008, Price was the goalie of record when the Canadiens allowed a game-tying empty-net goal to the visiting New York Islanders. Late in the third period, Canadiens defenseman Ryan O'Byrne was pressured by the Islanders' Doug Weight, and passed the puck back to Price to relieve pressure. The only problem was that Price had vacated the net on a delayed penalty to New York, and the puck slid the length of the ice into the unguarded cage (credited to Bill Guerin). • On February 9, 2011, Price fought Boston counterpart Tim Thomas, although neither was ejected.
• On April 9, 2015, Price broke a 59-year-old Canadiens record for the greatest number of wins in a regular season with 43 (Price would finish the 2014-15 season with 44). Jacques Plante set the mark of 42 in 1955-56, and tied his own mark in 1961-62. Ken Dryden tied the record in 1975-76.
