- Rob made his National Hockey League debut on December 1, 2005, at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
With Vancouver's Dan Cloutier sidelined by injury, Rob was recalled from AHL
Manitoba to back up Alex Auld. Late in the game, with the Canucks trailing
the Oilers, 5-2, Auld was replaced by McVicar. McVicar didn't face a shot before being pulled for an
extra skater, but Vancouver did close the gap to 5-3 before losing.

- According to a January 2003 interview with Canucks World, Rob's hobbies
include juggling, learning the guitar and watching movies. His favourite National
Hockey League goaltender is Patrick Roy "because [he]
likes how competitive he is."
