WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
"Came from Anaheim for Dominic Roussel. Learning
to play with control under coach Mitch Korn." (Jeff Legwold, The Hockey
News Future Watch 1999)
"Has a solid season in Milwaukee last year and should see even more action
there this season. He's a big goalie who covers a good portion of the net.
Needs to start opening some eyes if ever wants the chance to see NHL ice."
(The Sports Forecaster 1999-2000, p. 164)
"Perseverance paid off for Mason in 2003-04, as he bounced back from two
full seasons in the AHL to secure the backup role in Nashville. Incredibly,
he became just the third goalie in franchise history to record a victory
(following Tomas Vokoun and Mike
Dunham). Mason may receive a challenge from Brian
Finley." (The Sports Forecaster 2005-06, p. 103)

DID YOU KNOW?
- On October 15, 2001, Chris was credited with scoring a goal while with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals. With the Admirals on a delayed penalty, the Utah Grizzlies pulled their goaltender for an additional skater. Grizzly forward
Jim Montgomery's errant pass went the length of the ice and into the vacated net. Mason, the last Milwaukee player to touch the puck, was given the goal. Unfortunately, Mason's Admirals lost, 5-3.
- On April 15, 2006, Chris was credited with a National Hockey League goal in Nashville's 5-1 victory over
Phoenix. On a delayed Phoenix power play, Coyotes forward Geoff Sanderson shot the puck into his
own net midway through the third period. "It was a cheesy goal - someone else should have received it,"
said Mason. "I don't even like counting one like that as a goal. I'd much rather shoot one and saucer it
down and in. Maybe when I retire I can tell people that's how it happened."
