• Jason made his National Hockey League debut at Chicago's United Center on December 16, 2005. After waiving starter Patrick Lalime on December 12, the St. Louis Blues recalled Bacashihua to back up Curtis Sanford. In Chicago, Sanford left the game 4:38 into the second period after Blues defenseman Eric Weinrich collided with him and knocked him into the post. Bacashihua gave up two goals on sixteen shots the rest of the way in a 5-1 loss. "It's not the way I thought my first NHL game would be," Bacashihua said. "But I skated well and felt confident going in."
• Jason earned his first National Hockey League victory at the Glendale Arena on December 20, 2005, as his St. Louis Blues defeated the hometown Phoenix Coyotes by a 5-4 count. Although the Blues were outshot by Phoenix, 37-14, they recovered from a 3-2 deficit with three consecutive goals as Bacashihua made thirty-three saves.
